NBHA and Troxel Helmets Partner to Promote Rider Safety at the NBHA Youth World Championships

The National Barrel Horse Association and Troxel Helmets have partnered to create the very first Helmet Side Pot at the 2019 NBHA Youth World Championships from July 21–27 in Perry, Georgia. The $500 added money side-pot is open to all competitors at the Youth World Championships who are wearing any brand of helmet. Competitors can enter the Helmet Side Pot any time prior to their first-round run. The Helmet Side Pot will give riders the chance to win added money at a low entry fee, sponsored by Troxel Helmets. All monies will be awarded based on results from the first go-round of action from the Youth World Championships.

“We’re very excited to announce the addition of the Helmet Side Pot at our 2019 NBHA Youth World Championships” NBHA executive director Sherry Fulmer said. “Rider safety is a paramount concern at every NBHA event, and we’re proud to partner with Troxel Helmets to recognize, inspire and reward our Youth World Championship qualifiers who are wearing helmets.”

In addition to providing Youth World Championship qualifiers the chance to run for an additional side-pot, Troxel Helmets will be on-site to meet the competitors, answer questions and promote the importance of rider safety. Troxel athlete and 2014 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Champion Barrel Racer Fallon Taylor will also be making a special appearance at the NBHA Youth World Championships.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with NBHA to offer the first added money side-pot that rewards riders for competing in a helmet at the NBHA Youth World Championships,” Troxel brand manager Jenny Beverage said. “Supporting youth athletes and creating helmets they feel proud to wear is an important mission at Troxel. We commend NBHA for supporting the growing helmet movement in barrel racing.”

The NBHA Youth World Championships has a strong history, running every year since the inception of the NBHA, and is known as the largest youth barrel race in the world. The NBHA Youth World Championships has paid out more than $3.3 million, and competitors travel from more than 40 different U.S. states and from 4 different continents.
