Jana Guthrie Takes Top Honors at the NBHA Produced 2022 Fort Worth Super Showcase
The National Barrel Horse Association was proud to produce the 2022 Fort Worth Super Showcase event which took place on May 15th at the Cowtown Coliseum in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. The event was run in conjunction with an array of additional free spectator events that accompany the prestigious 2022 Professional Bull Riders World Finals currently underway at the nearby Dickies Arena, which concludes on May 22.
High temperatures didn’t slow down the action, with over 300 competitors running for their share of the $5,000 added money as well as prizes from Circle Y Saddles, Ariat, and 3S Custom Equine Saddle Pads. Ariat Fast Time Awards went to the Open 1D winner Jana Guthrie, Senior 1D winner Dee Dee Jordan, and Youth 1D winner Lucas Sad. The winner of each D in the Open took home a Circle Y Saddle. The Open D winners were:
1D: Jana Guthrie riding Waylon James | 13.812
2D: Lorie Diodosio riding VF Call Me Freddie | 14.347
3D: Megan Wright riding Sanjos Vodka Twist | 14.816
4D: Jenna Graf riding TrafficRunawayTrain | 15.353
5D: Stephanie Vondra riding Skippy | 15.836
The race allowed competitors to enter a variety of sidepots and included Helmet, Youth, Prime and Senior sidepots. The American Paint Horse Association offered a PBRIP paint incentive sidepot, where Kimberly Teague riding Best Ta Fame took the 1D, with a 14.248. “It’s so special to be able to produce an event in such a historic facility,” states NBHA Director Bailey Nahrgang. “The NBHA team is based in Fort Worth, so being able to host an event for the barrel racers in our own area was awesome. We’re grateful for the support of our sponsors and barrel racers who made this event possible.”
